The Wilderness Masquerade is Hiptopia’s most exclusive event of the year. Hosted by the Hiptopian High Court at Chateau Hibou, a majestic manor perched high atop the Eastern Hiptopian hills in the midst of a wild owl sanctuary, the Wilderness Masquerade’s invitations are sent only to the most obscure, and therefore very best, of hipster society. Attendees must wear masks and costumes which represent their spirit creatures, and throughout the evening, party-goers may only address the Hiptopian High Court in the language of their chosen animal. Should you ever receive an invitation to The Wilderness Masquerade, be sure to venture into the garden, where you’ll find a vast menagerie owned and cared for by the French Duke himself.

See how the wild hipster stands in deep contemplation, imagining in the depths of his mind precisely how many orphaned raccoons could be housed comfortably in the boot of his car. With a bit of clever planning and creativity, five raccoons could make such a place a pleasant home, but with so many woodland creatures in need of shelter, will such a small number satisfy him? No. It will not do. Thus, the entire car will be converted for their use, and the wild hipster will raise them as his own.

The costume designer for Twenty-One Hours With August McAvery has been quoted as saying, “I selected these glasses for Karen’s character because…because I felt the roundess, you know…it was symbolic. It was a metaphor. They’re the circle of romance, the journey this couple takes, beginning and ending in the same place…with a pair of eyes watching from behind…from behind a lens….seeing. Really seeing, you know? That’s what August McAvery’s glasses said to me, and that’s what I hope they’ll say to the viewer as they embark on this journey with us.”

The film opens across the U.K this summer.
